The story

Change arrives with joy, grief, and a new name.

He starts in a small-town bedroom, guitar to the mirror, then packs the car while mama cries and daddy only nods. A Wednesday call brings a grandfather’s death beside a life-changing offer, and later he stands in a kitchen with a mortgage, a lawnmower, and someone else’s hand, learning that the turn comes without warning.

Lyrics

Verse 1

Used to dream about the big leagues From a bedroom in a small town Playing guitar to the mirror Hoping someday I'd be found Flipped a coin and chased a feeling Packed my car and left the state Mama cried, daddy nodded Said, \Go on now, don't be late\

Pre-Chorus

Funny how the road keeps turning Even when you think you've arrived

Chorus

Life changes And you don't get a say in when Life changes What you thought was the end is the begin One day you're lost, next day you're found One day you're up, next day you're down But every twist and every turn Is just another page to learn Yeah, life changes

Verse 2

Got a call on a Wednesday morning Said my grandpa passed away Same week I got the offer That would change my life someday Joy and grief in the same mailbox Happiness and pain same day Life don't care about your schedule It just shows up anyway

Chorus

Life changes And you don't get a say in when Life changes What you thought was the end is the begin One day you're lost, next day you're found One day you're up, next day you're down But every twist and every turn Is just another page to learn Yeah, life changes

Verse 3

Now I'm standing in a kitchen Holding someone else's hand Watching something cook on the stove That I don't even understand Got a mortgage and a lawnmower Who even is this man But I wouldn't trade a single thing For going back to where I began

Bridge

To the kid still dreaming in his room To the girl who feels like it's too soon To the one who just lost everything Hold on, hold on Life changes like the seasons do Winter always breaks to something new So don't give up on what's ahead The best change hasn't happened yet

The sound

Uplifting, anthemic country at 122 BPM. Acoustic guitar building from solo verse to full band. Driving drums entering on the chorus with energy. Electric guitar hooks, fiddle celebrating on the fills. Big, arena-sized production on the final chorus with layered gang vocals. Inspirational without being saccharine. Think life montage soundtrack.
