The story
He’s looking up from a life he can’t quite reach.
He stands at the bottom of a two-story house, taking in the second floor like it belongs to someone else. The ground level holds the life he can touch, but the higher windows keep their distance, bright with what might have been. He can feel the divide in his chest, all the way up to the lighted rooms above.
