The story

For once, the morning feels like it wants to stay.

He wakes to sun on the window and coffee that tastes better, then catches his reflection without picking it apart. The old weight is gone for a day; he stands inside his own skin, rides the feeling as long as it lasts, and knows tomorrow may bring the clouds back to the door.

Lyrics

Verse 1

I woke up this mornin' and the sun hit just right The coffee tasted better and the world looked so bright I don't know what changed between last night and today But somethin' in my chest just started goin' the right way

Pre-Chorus

Maybe it's the weather, maybe it's the time Or maybe I just finally stopped pourin' all the wine

Chorus

I feel good, like really, truly good Not the fake-it-'til-you-make-it kinda \I'm okay\ good I feel good, like deep inside my bones Like I finally found the key to feelin' right at home In my own skin, my own life, my own way I feel good, I feel good today

Verse 2

I looked at my reflection and I didn't pick apart The lines around my eyes or the weight around my heart I just saw a person who's been through a lot of hell And somehow, someway, turned out pretty well

Chorus

I feel good, like really, truly good Not the fake-it-'til-you-make-it kinda \I'm okay\ good I feel good, like deep inside my bones Like I finally found the key to feelin' right at home In my own skin, my own life, my own way I feel good, I feel good today

Verse 3

So I'm gonna ride this wave as long as it may last I'm gonna soak up every second, not let the good go fast And if tomorrow morning brings the clouds back to my door At least I'll know this feelin's possible and worth the fight for more

Bridge

For the first time in a long time, I don't feel the weight The anxiety ain't knockin' and the sadness came in late I know it won't be perfect every day from here on out But today I feel good and that's worth singin' about

The sound

Bright, feel-good country at 114 BPM. Jangly acoustic guitar with an open, happy tone. Upbeat drums with a driving hi-hat. Bass guitar bouncing with positivity. Banjo adding sunshine to the arrangement. Fiddle playing a happy, dancing melody. Handclaps on the chorus. The whole track should feel like the first warm day of spring. Joyful, authentic, the sound of genuine happiness.
