The story
The neon keeps shining after the car gives up.
He rolls under Broadway with a stubborn engine and a dashboard full of warning lights, the city glowing past the windshield while the night keeps moving without him. Around him, honky-tonks spill sound onto the sidewalk, but he sits stranded in the middle of the bright strip, staring at the one place that won’t stop for anybody.
