The story
The bell rings, and the dust starts flying.
At recess, the blacktop turns into a rodeo, with sneakers skidding like horses and kids crowding the fence of the playground. A jump rope becomes a lasso, a swing set a chute, and one kid keeps trying to hold on while the afternoon pushes harder. When the bell calls them back, nobody is really ready to get off.
